EASTER IN KURPIE AND NEIGHBORING REGIONS

Lesson + Workshop

How did people in the past prepare for the most important Christian holidays? What did the celebrations look like — from Palm Sunday to Easter Monday?

During this class combined with a workshop, you will learn how food was blessed, watch a demonstration of wax-resist egg decorating and onion-skin dyeing, and discover the customs associated with Easter Monday. The activities begin with a short theoretical lesson supported by a multimedia presentation.

TRADITIONAL
CHRISTMAS TREE ORNAMENTS

Lesson + Workshop

The workshop consists of two parts. The first part is a short lecture on Christmas customs and traditions, with particular focus on Christmas Eve and decorating the Christmas tree.

The second part involves making traditional Christmas tree ornaments from tissue and colored paper — such as stars, hedgehogs, baubles, dolls, angels, and paper chains. This part is adapted to the age and skills of the participants.
