MUSEUM
PERMANENT EXHIBITIONS

The North Mazovian Museum offers as much as 1,550 square meters of exhibition space! In the main building of the Museum, visitors can explore five permanent exhibitions.
The exhibition covers the period from the arrival of humans along the Narew River in the 9th century BC, through the Golden Age of the 15th and 16th centuries, up to the time of the Second World War. Among the exhibits are coins, pottery, weapons, tools, jewelry, and old photographs.
Sculptures of saints and patrons from the Kurpie Green Forest region, dating from the late 18th to the early 20th century, originating from old roadside shrines and crosses. This is the Kurpie heritage of the North Mazovia region.
One of the most impressive collections of kerosene lamps in Poland, featuring pieces from the 19th and 20th centuries. Among the most fascinating exhibits is a parlor kerosene lamp, whose body was made in China at the end of the 19th century, complete with its original decorative shade.
The first exhibition in Poland devoted to amber, opened in 1950 thanks to the efforts of the eminent regionalist Adam Chętnik. Its latest version showcases raw amber, traditional tools used for amber searching and processing, as well as both historical and contemporary amber products.
